Pure House: Ibiza

An oasis of peaceful luxury in the hills

Only 10 minutes out of the town, and we found ourselves turning onto a little dirt track up in the hills. Turning into the drive and it feels like you are arriving at someone’s lovely house. The reception area is true Ibizan style – white walls, open spaces and a relaxed vibe.

We were met by Damian, who showed us to our beautiful room, and around the property. It is only a small place, with 5 rooms, so it has the real feel of being at someone’s house that you can really relax in. Each room is decorated simply but very well – spacious bathrooms with big fluffy towels, large comfortable beds, dressing gowns, and a little private terrace with chairs looking out towards the swimming pool.

The swimming pool is a glistening deep blue, surrounded by deckchairs and umbrellas, and leads to the breakfast and bar area. Having settled into our room it was mid afternoon and it felt like the perfect time to sit by the pool with my book, and enjoy a glass of wine and some nibbles. There was a great range of drinks to choose from, and Damian was very knowledgeable about all the wines and what we might want to try.

It is possible to eat there in the evening if you give some notice, but we were making the most of exploring some of the many incredible restaurants around Ibiza. Being close to the town it was easy to get taxis to the various restaurants, enabling us to fully enjoy eating and drinking!

 

Waking up the next morning having slept so well in the amazingly quiet and comfortable rooms, we headed to the breakfast area. What an absolute spread. . . initially we had some fresh fruit, toast with homemade jam, tea / coffee and some fresh juice. We were then able to choose from a range of options – anything from more traditional scrambled eggs with bacon, to the calorie conscious egg white omelet. Everything was delicious and we had a very relaxed breakfast.

 

That first morning we met the owner, Caroline, who had bought the finca in a fairly rustic state, and lovingly restored it to its beautiful, luxurious current state. She was so friendly and I always love being able to meet the owners who have put so much time, energy and love into making these small hotels.

 

Pure House also has a little yoga / fitness deck, and you can arrange to have personal training or yoga sessions there if wanted, or you can just use it as you want. They also have a wellness room where you can arrange for massages or other beauty treatments. Caroline also told us they had done a few weddings there, and I can’t imagine a more serene spot for some celebrations!

 

Overall, Pure House ticked many of my boxes for a great stay – small hotel with personal service from staff who make you feel like family, great food, great range of wine and beer, quiet and relaxing but close enough to get into town and around the island.
